Community Invited to Learn About NAMI Hillsborough Programs and Resources at FREE Events During Mental Health Awareness Week.
TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 3, 2019 – NAMI Hillsborough, Inc. is inviting the community to join them for two FREE Cup O’ Joe events in Tampa, on Thursday, October 10 and Friday, October 11th. The events are part of week long events to observe National Mental Health Awareness Week (October. 6-12).
NAMI Hillsborough, Inc. is the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), which is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. NAMI Hillsborough offers free programs, advocacy, outreach and resources to increase the quality of life for those affected by mental illness, their families and our community. NAMI also works to end the stigma surrounding mental illness.
The new NAMI Hillsborough, Inc. Board of Directors and other community leaders will be meeting with community members and discussing “Why Care?” at Blind Tiger in Westshore Plaza and the Portico in downtown Tampa. “Why Care?” is the theme for Mental Health Awareness Week, and the campaign invites community members to share stories about why they care for others, and what it means to have access to mental health care. NAMI will also discuss the upcoming Strides for Mental Health Awareness Run/Walk fundraiser at the University of South Florida on Saturday, November 16, 2019.
We invite you to join us at our Coffee & Connect events to share thoughts your “Why Care” message.
